Alltech Angus - what's the verdict?

by Anthony U » Tue Dec 27, 2011 4:36 pm

I was going to order some Alltech Angus filet for a special birthday dinner this weekend. Has anyone tried it? Is the $28.99/lb price (center cut) justified? Appreciate any feedback.

What local restaurants serve it?

So we bit the bullet and I must say they were pretty damn good and flavorful. You could cut them without a knife. Definitely give this beef a try.

You can order Alltech Angus through Critchfield Meats here:

I work on the beverage side for Alltech and could tell you more about Kentucky Ale and Town Branch Bourbon, for instance, but I can vouch that the beef is delicious, tender, and worth the price. Several upscale restaurants in Kentucky are trying it and liking it.

In a nutshell, Alltech is a yeast fermentation company in Nicholasville, KY that specializes in animal nutrition. Most of our supplements and other products involve or are derived from yeast, thus the beer and whiskey. The cattle in our angus program utilize our all-natural supplements.

We have a new brand manager for the angus program named Brian Carpenter. I have alerted him to the forum, so hopefully he will chime in with more in-depth info.

You can also find out more about Alltech and our new coffee project, Alltech Sustainable Haiti, here
