We are going there for the first time on Monday night.
Suggestions??? What are your faves?

I've heard they are famous for steak in Argentina.

I usually get the Parilladas de Bife (sp?) It's a platter of four different cuts of steak. It is incredibly delicious. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Also, make sure to save room for dessert. All the desserts are made with dulce de leche. Oh my gosh-they are heavenly.

Oh, and you might want to make a reservation at opentable.com. They take walk ins, but a few times lately I've tried to go and even though they have had empty tables the wait has been like an hour because of a large party being there.

Sweetbreads are one of those things I've never been able to bring myself to try. The idea of it just doesn't sit well with me. I'm far from a picky eater and adventurous with food in general... but that makes me take pause. I'd likely try a bite if a friend was having it, but I've never been in that situation either.

Aaron,
If you go to Palermo Veijo. let them know you are a cautious eater, but would like to try the sweetbreads. They would make a small portion for you to try.

See, I can't agree with that. I'm not a finicky eater at all, but I don't like sweetbreads. It's the texture, I think. I ordered them at Palermo thinking I would love them, even though I hadn't had them before. I couldn't eat more than a bite. Blech! I'm almost embarrassed to admit not liking them.

you should be very embarrassed and deeply ashamed. I am surprised you still go out in public! Not liking sweetbreads! Oh the shame of it.

I'm with Aaron and Amy, although I must admit I've never given sweetbreads a try. The idea of most "innards" dishes just doesn't sit well with me (fried chicken livers are an exception). Oh well, maybe I'll throw back a bottle of Malbec at PV and get the courage to try it/them.

I'll never forget the time my wife ordered veal cheeks at an out-of-town restaurant. She raved about the dish during the whole meal and only later had second thoughts after I explained to her what she had ordered.
