Baltimore and Louisville are very much alike in that regard. Both are major cities in border states that did not secede during the Civil War but that sometimes effect a southern accent in modern times.

Maryland is south of the Mason-Dixon line. Gives Baltimore a "traditional" Southern claim.

Robin.....Your statement on succession during the Civil War is accurate, but over simplifies Maryland's Civil War involvement.

I was a history professor prior to my current job and can say "What is the South?" was always among the most thought provoking discussions my classes ever had.

I love discussing Southern religion, Southern "State of Mind", Southern politics, Civil War allegiances...but to simplify it, if you are a 3.5 hour drive from New York City, you "ain't" in the South.

BTW, if anyone is really serious stuffing the ballot box, you can vote more than once a day if you use a different email address.

I'm a proud Louisvillian and we have absolutely wonderful eating establishments. However, I don't gain weight here, but gain weight whenever I visit New Orleans......just sayin'!

Considering the state is the murder capital of the country, this homie ain't gonna be the one to stir their pot.

I must say I'm a bit surprised they could muster this many votes...I had no idea their were that many people in Louisiana who could read, write or operate a computer.
