how would you handle this?

Say you have a bad experience at a local independent. Said establishment has roughly three servers, none of whom really come across as being in charge. Aside from a telephone number, there's really no contact information for the place that I can find.

I don't want to post a negative review here. Well, honestly, I do want to post a negative review but I am resisting that urge. I didn't feel that talking to anyone at the restaurant would be all that helpful, especially considering my interaction with two of the people had been ho-hum. But, now looking at the situation, I'm not sure how to proceed. This is a place I've been many times, and this was by far the worst experience I had there. The food was off quality, the service was so-so, and I felt like I was being nickle-and-dimed at every corner.

So how does one talk to "management" when it's unclear how to locate management?

I would call the restaurant and ask to speak to a manager, indicating nothing, and see who you get, then proceed from there if you feel like it will be of benefit.

If that does not work, then I would think a negative review here would certain get some results.

I will say this. Because of server error, I was originally presented with a check that was about 30% of my tab. So, I get nickle and dimed all night, and then it's on me, to quote Monopoly, to not take advantage of a "bank error in my favor"?

It's important to know What Would Rat Do, so you can do the opposite. Rat would pay the 30% bill, complain loudly in the restaurant to disturb other patrons and post bad reviews on every BB on the web.

The owner wants his business to succeed. You are doing them a favor by privately informing them of your disappointing experience.
