There's a big issue with the Kelsey's property (roughly 200 yards from NABC) in that it lies on the "wrong" side of the railroad tracks, meaning that when Grant Line Road is shut for much of 2009 to build a bridge over the RR, the Kelsey's side will be accessible only by a convoluted detour. At NABC's current location, we'll still be able to receive traffic from I-265 via University Woods.
As for NABC, we're looking to expand the brewing operation, not "move," because if it isn't broken, no sense in fixing it (where we are now). We're hoping to work with another developer/party to modify and use a space in downtown New Albany for a larger brewery and small taproom with scaled-down food.
As for future prospects at the Kelsey's building, I'd guess that the advent of Applebee's down the street certainly didn't help the previous operator. As we've proven, and as the new La Rosita taqueria is proving now, people will come to our stretch of Grabt Line Road if they're offered something good. Future occupants of the Kelsey's space need to step beyond the model of previous incarnations, or they'll just lose out to the restaurants clustered nearby at the Charlestown Road exurb.
