I am all for helping people get on their feet, especially in this industry, but I have some concerns on this one. I would understand making a donation if the app were going to be free to all, not just the people who donate $10 and up. I know that there are going to be some costs involved in creating and maintaining the app as well, but is she just going to be pocketing the proceeds after recovery of cost? Maybe I am just being cynical, but I also think that Urbanspoon already has a fantastic app for this, that I can actually edit information on myself. That is a free app, and they make their money from advertisement. I think that the guests who use us should probably not have to pay someone else to get information about our restaurant. Maybe I am in the wrong and being a little grinchy, but this is also the time of year when I Iike to try and donate any extra money I can to help those who can't afford to keep warm and fed through the winter, and those who can't afford to give their families a nice Christmas. I would much rather give money to them than to someone seeking profits by having others buy them a business. And I am sorry Michelle because I really do love your Consuming Louisville website.
