and honey bees (which, while I must frown at as a vegan, at least this is a small, organic farm)

It amuses me that a vegan feels the need to "frown" at using honey bees on a farm... Can't they just think of it as the bees paying for rent for a nice house (a protected bee hive near an orchard) with honey?

I've never really understood the vegan movement, but that's OK... to each their own. It just amused me.

The way I have understood it to be is that they frown upon it because of the way some people collect the honey by gassing them out of the hive.

Yeah... I'm sure there is a logical reason for it... it just amuses me he adds in "I must frown at the honey bees" but doesn't mention anything about the goats and chicken.

You better be glad they are there or else none of the vegetables would produce! Bees are an important part of the food production process!

Over all this sounds like a great venture for them. It will certainly be interesting to watch it develop and to see how they handle the products it produces.
