Velocity reports on Isaac's at Bernheim Forest

by Robin Garr » Sat Oct 13, 2007 8:22 am

Lisa Hornung offers a short review of Isaac's Cafe at Bernheim Forest in this week's Velocity. The 281-word article tells us more about Lisa's affection for Bernheim than it does about the restaurant, but it sounds nice. I wonder if it stays open all winter.

I have to disagree with this review. I visited Bernheim last month with a group of adults that will remain anonymous because I'm sure the orginization will want to be welcome next year. We arrived around 9am and told the cafe that we would be having lunch at 12. There were 28 of us and our food took over an hour. The only hot item ordered was probably my gourmet grilled cheese (not grilled or even toasted by the way). The bread was sopping with oil or grease and tasted like warmed over waste of $5+. I hate to be harsh because maybe they were just having a bad day. Next time, I will pack a lunch and have a picnic.
