Louisville Dessert Truck is licensed

by Leah S » Thu Dec 01, 2011 11:50 pm

as a Food Truck. IP&L tells me I'm the first truck licensed under all the new rules. It was quite an afternoon at the IP&L desk, and if you Like LDT on Facebook, perhaps you were following along. Since most of the rules changed two weeks ago, all new forms have been created. And since some of the rules changed on Tuesday of this week, they were still making amendments as I was filling out paperwork. Three licensing assistants and one administrator later, and I was being directed toward a camera to get my vendor ID made, then told to go pay the cashier and come back upstairs. Then they gave me my official license and laminated it.

So what this means is that I can park at meters and sell desserts, as long as I'm 150' away from a restaurant selling the same food I am. It opens up a lot of territory.

Of course the first block I checked for meters was Main st in front of Humana Corporate. Alas, no meters in front. But meters on Fifth.

There are meters the Main St. blocks to either side - in front of the PNC building between 4th & 5th, and between 6th & 7th. The PNC side would be a good spot if you're aiming for Humana business.

Or come down a little closer to the river and you can attract Humana (their other building) and the Presbyterians!

Leah,

I'll make my husband lets the folks in Humana's Innovation Center know you are available. I'll be at their Holiday party next Saturday and I can reinforce the message. :D

thanks guys.
I think I am going to try to find a meter around the Humana Waterside/Presbyterian center on Monday. Tuesday I think I'll cruise U of L. Wednesday, back downtown around PNC/Humana Corporate.

Leah,
If you are firm on the Humana location on Wednesday, I'll see if my husband can send an internal email around letting folks know. (but I wouldn't recommend if you are not positive you are going to be there).

Maybe not in front of Humana, but there are meters on Main in front of the arena (on the opposite side of the street).

Deb, yes firm on trying to find parking on Main on Wednesday. Already posted on Fb also.

The Arena block is a "clean zone." From Second to Third, waterfront to Main, no vending of any sort is permitted. Pretty typical for arena areas, I'm finding.

And I also have to park so that the service window (passenger side) is curbside.

Leah,

Brian sent the email around to his extended team at Humana. Here's hoping it goes viral... :D

What's on the meniu tomorrow? I want to ask him to bring me home a cupcake if he can get out for a few minutes.

Thanks,
Deb
