Chick-Fil-A lays it on the line: They don't like gay couples

by Robin Garr » Thu Dec 01, 2011 3:04 pm

We've discussed previously whether Chick-Fil-A's "Never on Sunday" practice is merely kindness to employees or if it shields something darker.

Now it's out of the closet, so to speak ...

Yes, Chick-fil-A Says, We Explicitly Do Not Like Same-Sex Couples

AND, while we're sharing links, this one is a lot of fun.

Was kind of a difficult read - in the end I don't think there's anything surprising or left to be said beyond that last marathon thread.

I stand by my previous statement. I won't eat there and encourage others to do the same. While I am not the biggest supporter of gay marriage, I don't need lessons in morality from a fast food chicken joint.

I've never eaten at at this explicitly evangelical Christian chicken chain. Never will either.

Oops! That was a good link too, but not the one I intended. Let me work on the top link and see if we can't get the best of both worlds ...

Sadly, I wonder if it will bolster them among their core constituency.

I wonder if they would hire an openly gay person? With this mindset I don't believe I will be visiting Chick-Fil-A moving forward.

On a side note My wife and I will be moving back to Louisville, from Indy, in January after a five year absence. I read this forum multiple times a day and look forward to becoming an active contributor upon our return.

They seem to hire a lot from their "foster families" and recruit from their religious circles as well. I have overhead some interesting interviews back when I still ate there.

@Robin, I'm not sure they can sustain their current growth on the back of their core constituency alone.

I hope that Chick Fil A falls in a pit.
