David Pierce selling breweriana to help with pet dog surgery

by Robin Garr » Fri Nov 25, 2011 5:22 pm

This is really a shame ... Forumite David Pierce's little dog Jackson has a broken vertebra and spine issues, and he can't get surgery without expensive insurance. He's not asking for a handout but offering to sell from his collection of rare breweriana, which is on display at his home in Crescent Hill.

Here's his Facebook post, printed here with his permission:

David Pierce
I have posted pictures of a huge chunk of our Louisville (only) Breweriana collection. They are posted in the mobile uploads folder. This is the cream of the crop, a collectors collection. I am trying to put a value on the pieces and am offering for sale to pay our little dog Jackson's surgery bills. If you know a collector that may be interested please send them my way. Thank you!

If you're on Facebook (and who isn't), here's David's page with the discussion:
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000563263411

Otherwise, you can PM him on the forum for more info.

Shawn Vest just posted the suggestion that Dave's friends offer to buy a piece, then donate it back for resale. I think I'll do that, too. :)

A Holiday POX on anyone who buys David's memorabilia. You don't BUY a man's stuff when he needs a hand (no matter HOW sincere the offer to sell). I mean Jesus-H-Christ, the man IS Louisville Craft Beer, show him a little unconditional love. If you've EVER enjoyed one of David's beers you should be RUNNING to help out. I've got a $20 bill just itchin' to help poor lil' Jaxon. Who else has got one ? Send me an address, tell me where to drop a donation off...But I'm NOT buying the man's sh**.

Hey, what the hell, someone break out one of those little Star-Trek-fruit-cake communicator devices some of you folks are always tugging on and let's get something a-Twitter. I'd be willing to bet you something nice that AtG and BBC and NABC and whatever other E-I-E-I-O outfits are out there would be willing to do a spontaneous Saturday night fundraiser for lil' ol' Jaxon.

Boombozz will pitch in $100.00, I challenge the rest of the restaurant community to match!

How about a "Jaxon Hour"....or evening. Ya get all the local brew pubs to set up a "Jaxon Kettle" by the front door, ya put up a cute little Jaxon poster and then ya have someone stand there and ring a doggie collar with bells.

If people in this day and age can put together "flash mobs" in the blink of an eye, I'm pretty sure we should be able to handle something like the above suggestion.

David,
Put up a jar at Bank St if the Baron will allow. I'll be in tomorrow and will gladly contribute. We had a shepard with hip displacia about a million years ago and I remember that ordeal like it was yesterday.
I'm a bitter drinker....I just prefer it that way

I won't put it out here in Googlable space, but contact David privately and he can give you the info needed to throw a Jackson (or several) his way via PayPal.

As many of our patrons know, our restaurant is owned by an English bulldog named Rochioli. Nancy and I's heart, along with the rest of our staff who are pretty much all dog lovers, goes out to Dave and will gladly accept Tony's challenge to donate $100 to this worthy cause. We wish you the best of luck Dave!
What is the best way to get this to him?

I'm a bit of a tech idiot, so I hope I did the Paypal thing correctly.
