Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, one and all! Good food, good wine, and a few moments of quiet reflection about the many things we have to be thankful for. :)

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Robin! Quick question, if you happen to see this in next few hours (or anyone else) - can you recommend a pinot in the $15-20 range?

Jackie, for sure! Louis Jadot Bourgogne Pinot Noir is my go-to for affordable Burgundy Pinot - widely available at Old Town, Wine Rack, etc. Some other great buys, The Seeker 2008 Pinot Noir Vin de Pays Vignobles de France, $11.99 at Wine Rack. For an American style, see if you can still get The Pinot Project 2009 California Pinot Noir, about 15 bucks at the usual suspects.

Laura and I also wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Jackie, we've recently discovered Meiomi pinot. I believe Westport whiskey and wine sells it. It's by the Wagner family the same group that makes Caymus, MerSoleil and Conundrum. It's in the price range you're talking about.

Thanks Robin and Mark! Unfortunately I ended up having to purchase the wine even sooner than I thought before these replies, so I asked the clerk at the liquor store here in Indy and he recommended Argyle (Willamette Valley). Not a very adventurous suggestion, but I didn't have time to shop because I needed to get my Gran Marnier cranberry sauce (recipe courtesy of Deb!) going asap to give it time to set. The Argyle was a lovely choice, but I'll remember to look back at these suggestions next time I'm in the market. Gobble Gobble!

Jackie, that was a very nice choice in its price range - it would have given you a kick if I had recommended it, which I might have done, as it was our choice at DelFrisco's last week.

Robin, thanks for recommending The Seeker. I tried it last week and it was excellent. Incidentally, the Liquor Barn in St. Matthews has been selling it for $9.99, which seems like a very good price. I think I've seen it for $13 at other places.
