[Lotsa] Pizzabilities at Trader Joe's?

by Robin Garr » Tue Nov 22, 2011 5:38 pm

I was surprised at the use of "Lotsa" on an apparently locally made pizza-stuff sign at the Louisville Trader Joe's. Clueless coincidence, or in-your-face competition? Your opinions, please.

First, it's not locally made. Second, who cares.

Why respond if you don't care?

It's definitely in-your-face competition.

Totally coincidence for the word- It's used lotsa places.... There's even another Lotsa Pasta in Pacific Beach.

Seriously, I don't think management would allow it with intent- not worth any exposure. And Lotsa Pasta's not even their competition.

The only way to begin to judge intent would be to know if this sign is used in other locations or it is a one-off in Louisville.

As for my interpretation - it doesn't bother me nor do I imagine it to be purposeful.

Mmmmmm, pizza.

Seriously though, from what I understand, most of the management team was brought to Louisville from other cities. If they were behind the sign (making it themselves or instructing someone else to do so), they may not even be aware Lotsa Pasta exists. If a staff member from Louisville made it, well, who's to say they even know about Lotsa Pasta? The store is near St. Matthews, but that certainly doesn't preclude the possibility of staff members commuting from other parts of town. Somebody in Okolona or Fisherville or Prospect even may not know about Lotsa Pasta. Anyways, I suppose all I'm saying is that I'd be inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Another example of consistently showing no objectivity. The direct copy/paste blatant plagiarism by the cupcake shop was no big deal, an accident (yeah right) but unfounded conjecture is somehow relative.

Just another Internet flame war that got Brian banned from the forum for a "time out" for trolling because we don't admire trolling here. Keep on moving, nothing to see ...

And he's still trolling. I'm against censorship of any form, but Brian contributes next to nothing to the conversation. I know if he's banned the terrorists win, but geez he sure diminishes the forum with his snark and troll act.

I suppose the only thing that surprises me is that you were in Trader Joe's in the first place. No, on second thought I take that back...I suppose I'm also a little amazed that (apparently) you think Lotsa-Pasta actually makes world class pasta. <<Hint> It's good, it AIN'T great.

Whoa, Steve, I didn't realize you were a pasta expert! Branching out from Chef Boy-Ar-Dee in the can?

Actually, despite the name, pasta isn't really the primary thing that Lotsa Pasta (no hyphen) does. It's an international specialty food store. Have you ever been? I know it's well inside the Watterson, and folks from Garage Logic do worry about getting too "urban," I know.
