We are in shepherdsville right now.....actually at zappos. What is family dining in the area? something lowkey because of my four year old.

Mostly chains, I'm afraid, Becky. Cattleman's Roadhouse, although focused on steaks, has family dining and might be in your budget range:

There's also an El Tarasco down there I think.

Probably too far out of the way now ( Fairdale?) but Shack in The Back bbq is quite good.

The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

That Italian place on the Outer Loop isn't far - I forgot the name. Great food, good prices.
