College, Bachelor, Single - Crazy food combiniations

by Brian Curl » Tue Nov 15, 2011 7:58 pm

I know I've ate some weird food concoctions in my time. For example the ramen noodle sandwich while in colllege. Beef flavored noodles, bread/mayo. My substitute for the hamburger.

Got any crazy food combinations recommendations or stories?

Peanut butter and tuna on a cracker or as a sandwich. Hearty and filling.

Also, a few drops of soy sauce on mochi ice cream -OR- Twizzlers and popcorn can be a very nice salty/sweet combination.

Pour some balsamic vinegar and olive oil into a can of tuna fish. Enjoy!

I don't think I'd be brave enough to try that one! Doesn't sound too appetizing.

We oughta bottle this thread up and sell it as an appetite suppressant weight loss product. We'll be rich!

I'm sure there is a lot more crazy stuff out there. What got me thinking about this was what I had for lunch yesterday. I had some left over spaghetti noodles in the fridge. I heated frozen chicken nuggets in the microwave, added alfredo and the noodles and heated through. So I had chicken nugget alfredo.

In New Orleans, while waiting for your oyster poboy, saltine crackers with a drip of ketchup & a drop of Tabasco hot sauce, pretty good eats.

WTF does this even mean? You know if you want to send a love poem to BC there is a PM option. Otherwise you two could just get together and enjoy his refrigerater leftovers together. Then you can edit everyone else's post for spelling mistakes. BC seems to be pretty good at that! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!

You know Chis I appreciate the fact that you might be threatened by reading something - different. But guess what, you don't have to. When you see my post just don't click it.

EDIT: Not to my surprise I find in the early morning after that I regret my rant above. I'll leave it as it is though. I learned a long time ago that when I'd done something wrong, the best way for me to make it worse was to deny doing it. I do apologize to both Chris and Brian for my petty reaction.

A weird thing I did in college was crunch up ramen noodles, then sprinkle the powder on top of the uncooked noodles. If you crushed up chicken ramen and covered it in the powder, it tastes like popcorn.

Also, popcorn with a box of Whoppers poured in them and shaken up to get all mixed up.

Various ice cream flavors with various cereals (vanilla ice cream and Golden Grahams, chocolate ice cream and Cookie Crisp) is always a good choice. After all, ice cream keeps longer than milk.

Another college trait: I can eat any food without warming it up, from ravioli right out of the can to french fries.

Long story short, I'm a terrible person with terrible habits.

NOTHING I could have came up with back in my Navy and/or College days could possibly top the KFC "Bowls". Problem is I look at these things and can't look away 8)

One of the most common things I would eat during my broke college years would be:
One box of Kraft Mac & Cheese
One can of Tuna
One can of Cream of Mushroom

In oven or microwaveable dish, Combine with milk (which I never had) or water, until mixed well.
Either zap in the wave or bake in the oven until the noodles are soft.
If I was flush with cash, I might top with some extra cheese or crushed up Cheez-Its and broil off until golden. :D

When we got hungry in college we'd just grab our guns, hit the road for half an hour, and then hunt for an hour. Usually got at least two critters to throw in the pressure cooker. Sometimes three or four species in one pot. We called it shotgun stew. During Little 500 we also had the traditional beer on cornflakes but in retrospect, that tasted pretty much like ****. Obviously with today's craft brews, it might be worth revisiting for the younger set.
