La Bodega

I wanted to give a quick but well-deserved shout out to La Bodega at De La Torre's, an oft-overlooked (in my opinion) but wonderful place. We've had 3 meals there over the last month or two, and all have been exceptional. Service is always attentive and friendly, I don't think I've had a dish I didn't like, and the drinks are always good. It's really a great place to relax and take one's time sampling the various plates.

Finally, seriously, the M-1 (chorizo, serrano ham, goat cheese, and a quail egg served on a crusty baguette) is one of the best things I've ever eaten.

I agree with everything you posted. They have late late hours so if I need a midnight snack I've made my way there. The sangria is a good recipe too and is refreshing on warm evenings (not an issue at this time of year obviously).

M-1 and M-5, date\manchego cheese\ham on their bread, are my staples from the small bites menu. Both are truly outstanding.

Miguel was running a special tapa last night of roast suckling pig with some potatoes and what tasted like maybe turnips that was delicious. Wife and I also had the mushrooms, grilled lamb with Madeira Sauce that is one of my favorite dishes in the city, and meatballs. Love their White Anchovies dish and bread with aoli.

Maggie suggested a new red wine, http://www.welloiledwineco.com/las-hermanas-joven.htm, they got in that was also very enjoyable with a kickin' soundtrack that I believe her son put together.

Always a good time at La Bodega.
