It's turducken season at Varanese

Chef John Varanese is now taking orders for Holiday Turduckens and side dishes to serve at home holiday gatherings.

Vegetables and side options include: green beans, sweet potato cassarole, mashed sweet potatos, gravy, mashed potatoes and cranberry chutney.

Turduckens: two sizes 20# for $140.00 feeds 15-20 ppl or 26# for $160.00 feeds 25-30 ppl. Also a Turducken Roulade is available for $10.00 per pound with a 4lb. minimum. Side dishes are available: Mashed Sweet Potatoes $12 qt. - Sweet Potato Cassarole $18 qt - Mashed Potatoes $12 qt. - Green Beens $18 - Gravy $8 qt. - Cranberry Chutney $12 qt. A Credit Card will be required to secure orders. Please call 899-9904 to order.

Turducken seems a bit ridiculous to me, Like a fancy version of the kfc double down.....meat,meat and more meat.....meat meat meat meat meat. :lol:

Certainly Paul Prudhomme's original is over the top with the three birds mutually stuffed. :lol: John's version is a little more refined, boneless meat of the three birds rolled into a rouladen with stuffing and roasted, then sliced into portion-size rounds.

I think it sounds WONDERFUL, just pricey. BUT I can understand it being pricey with the labor to debone each.
