I noticed this on the Irish Rover website:

Sunday, November 13 - Stout Fest

We will be OPEN (Louisville location only) at 1:00 pm to celebrate our 18th anniversary with a festival of Stouts from around the world. Twelve different styles will be featured, along with a limited menu of traditional Irish pub grub and live music. No cover.

Stout Fest line-up: Guinness, O'Haras, Porterhouse Wrassler, Young's Double Chocolate, Belhaven Scottish, NABC, BBC Big Fella Bourbon Barrel, Against the Grain Milk Stout, North Coast Imperial, Southern Tier Oatmeal ... plus two others still to be announced.

NABC's stout is a new release, available anywhere for the very first time at the Rover on the 13th: QuakerFoot.

Thanks, Rich for bringing this to the attention of LHBers. And Roger, thanks for the update -- looking forward to sampling.

To clarify: Stout Fest will run 1 - 7 pm. Hope to see some of you there.

I'll be there! Is this indoors or out?

apologies for being so late to write a few words about this recently passed event, but I just wanted to pay highest compliments to all of the Rover folk who made this wonderful afternoon possible.

for those who couldn't make it, The Irish Rover - normally closed on Sundays - opened for a special "Stout Fest". In addition to the two Irish stouts that they normally stock (Guinness & O'Hara's), they brought in ten new draft stouts from around the US & abroad. All were offered as; 3 oz. "samplers", 10-12 oz. "glasses" and (some as) 20 oz. "Imperial" pints. They ranged in ABV from around 4.5% to over 20%! The flavors were all over the map and it was a treat to line 'em up and go down the line. Jason and Mike (barmen) provided great info on sourcing and, of course, food was on offer as you wouldn't want to pour all of that lovely drink on an empty stomach!

All in all, a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Cudos to all the Rover folks for putting it together and, hopefully we'll have opportunities to spend more enjoyable Sunday afternoons there!
