About damn time - just scraped the last tiny little bits of almondy residue from my last jar of their almond butter with sea salt this morning... They might just open before my withdrawal gets too bad.

The Breweries Behind Trader’s Joe’s Private Label Beer

That's a serious amount of private labels from some key players, even AB/Inbev.

In the clothing industry (about which I know more than the beer business), just because Company X's factory makes Company Y's clothing doesn't mean Y's clothing is the same quality as the stuff with X's label on it. X is normally happy to make things on contract with whatever quality materials and construction Y is willing to pay for, since nobody knows what factory it comes from.

Is it the same in the beer world? Or can one reasonably expect that TJ's Vintage Ale will be as good as Unibroue's other beers (etc.)?

Kari- my thought exactly. I won't be there for at least a week after they open: too many crowds and that shopping center is a real problem to get in and out of normally. Definitely not worth the hassle- food will still be there....

That's the one thing I really don't understand about the location. That corner of the plaza already have parking problems especially during the day because of the post office. There were certainly a lot of other locations much better suited, even in the same plaza. The old Circuit City for instance. I understand maybe Whole Foods didn't want to lease them the old Wild Oats building because of competition but there certainly are a lot of other locations available.

From what I understand there were alcohol-sales permit issues with that spot. Too close to the World Market, and retailers of alcohol have to be a certain minimum distance from one another.

I've been avoiding it ever since our old Echo got rear-ended by a woman talking on her phone and driving an Expedition while we were sitting still waiting for the light.

On the other hand, the Matrix that Oxmoor Toyota rented us (on her insurance, thank you) persuaded us to trade the Echo for a Matrix after the body work was done, so I guess it wasn't that bad a deal.
