Danville, Ky.: The nation's microbrewery capital?

by Rich S » Fri Oct 14, 2011 4:30 pm

According to a story in the Danville paper, with the opening of the city's second microbrewery, Danville now leads the U.S. in breweries per capita. I didn't realize it had even one microbrewery.

The story also mentions that Beer Engine, the first microbrewery there, is planning an event involving New Albanian on Oct. 22. Sounds like it could be interesting.

Big whoop...just fun-with-numbers boosterism as far as I'm concerned. By that logic, I could start brewing at McMurdo Station and it'd be the world microbrewery capital.

Not that I don't think it's great Danville has two breweries...I'm just allergic to spurious claims of distinction.
