Any great sushi lunch specials around?

by AmyG » Thu Oct 13, 2011 7:04 pm

We usually go out for sushi for dinner, but hubby is off work tomorrow so we were wanting to go for lunch. Anyone know who has the best sushi lunch specials around town?
Thanks!

Word on the street is that the downtown Sapporo runs a pretty good special with a bento box. If you're flexible, why not eat a late breakfast and hit Maido for happy hour? The sushi is outrageously cheap and so fresh and delicious. Specials run 4-7. I recommend the "There Went Drew" hold the cream cheese (deep fried rolls have their place in this world) and the "Dragon Breathing Fire.

Thanks!
I love Maido, but we are wanting to go while my son is still at school for the day and he gets out at 3:45. I'll check out the downtown Sapporo. Thanks again!

Here is a heads up. Opening Monday(hopeful) October 17th MASA JAPANESE BISTRO & SUSHI BAR at 12336 Shelbyville Rd Middletown. Interior looks great, and owner John Chi Chang has slowly been careful in putting details together.

Specials yet, I don't know. But I bet his restaurant will be that.

Suzi and I did lunch last week at Caviar, 416 West Muhammad Ali Boulevard.

Had a 8.95 special... pick rolls or fried rice and roll with soup or salad... we was stuffed, three rolls a soup and a salad and fried rice. sushi lunch for two under 20 bucks... does not include any drinks.

I am a big fan of "I Love Sushi" on Brownsboro. They have their menu on their face book page. Was there for lunch a couple of weeks ago with the girls and I had a great crunch munch roll. It included a salad and miso soup. Enjoy you day together.

The Osaka on Market Street does two-for-one sushi rolls on Mondays and Tuesdays.

I highly recommend I Heart Sushi and Teriyaki on lower Brownsboro. Everyone receives complimentary salad and miso soup. Kim the Owner is incredibly hospitable. They have great lunch specials and every time we've eaten there we've been pleased. His rolls are generous and seafood is fresh. The last 4 or 5 times we've gone Kim has shared something with us for free. The last couple of times it was some of his own dinner, some homemade kimchi which was spicy and incredible.

Ben Doya on Fifth Street downtown has a half-price special on Tuesday and Thursday. Or maybe it's BOGO. I'm not sure.
