Club Grotto

In a previous post, it was mentioned that Chris Howerton of Club Grotto was going to the new Equus operation.

The new chef at Club Grotto will be Daniel Stage who will be leaving La Relais.

It is possible that he will be more than the chef, but may have an ownership or managerial position of the restaurant. That part I am not sure of.

wow, that is huge news. Stage is a very good chef and he has been at LR for a long time. he really put his stamp on the menu. I can only assume that the change is happening because he is going to get some ownership in the Club Grotto operation. Look for the food at CG to get even better.

Upon seeing this thread, i called my long-time former roommate (who is the pastry chef at Le Relais).

he checked out this thread, and immediately called Daniel.




I can tell you with complete certainty...

Daniel Stage is not leaving Le Relais to take over the Executive Chef role (or for that matter, any other role at Club Grotto)



anything you hear otherwise is complete hearsay.

In that case I certainly have to apologize. I was told by someone who I completely trusted that this was happening. I hope I didn't cause anyone too much trouble.

I agree. I would never have posted it had not a VERY reliable source told me.
