Chefs Move to Schools-Volunteer Opportunity

by Dan Thomas » Mon Oct 10, 2011 5:41 am

I am seeking chef volunteers for a "Breakfast with Mom" event at Wellington Elementary School on Oct. 28th.
The time would be from 7 am to about 9:30-10ish am. We will be helping to prepare and serve a healthy breakfast for the students and their mothers. We are also looking for volunteers to mingle with the students to engage them in coversations about healthy eating habits. Here is a link to the USDA website with a wealth of information with subjects to talk about.

After a successful event there last year, the principal has asked if there would be chefs in the community willing to come out again. We made a positve impression on the students and we were a big hit. Please contact me via e-mail if you are interested in volunteeing a couple of hours to this great cause. Thank you for your consideration. :D

Just a reminder to see if any one else would be interested in helping out. We already have a great group of chefs coming, but we'd love to have more. :D

Dan I would love to participate but am going to be in Virginia. I was kind of disappointed when I saw the date.

That's OK. There will be several more opportunities in the spring. I'll let you know when all of the details are worked out on the up coming projects.
