Interesting discovery for food preservation

by Mark R. » Sat Oct 08, 2011 4:20 pm

Certainly sounds good in the laboratory setting, it will be interesting to see what happens when it gets into the market. So slight that may be relatively soon.

I can see it already, "hamburger $6.00, our special healthy bisin burger $ 7.95"

Just one question: is the bisin produced locally????

Without knowing the science, this one concerns me somewhat. First there is the "unnaturalness" of food not breaking down ( 1 month old hamburger anyone?-yuck! ) But more importantly, without testing, how do we know that the bison in food does not end up suppressing the good bacteria in our systems- our bodies need a certain amount of bacteria to function properly. Thanks but I'll pass....

Meh. The lunch ladies at my grade school were experimenting with this stuff back in '72.

I am not a big fan of this idea, it sound disgusting for most any food. Then I had a strange thought about how it could make restaurant quality stock available for the mass public. That could make me interested, who's had a Twinkie (four years after it was produced)!

I will rarely be the devil’s advocate; that thought just made me a little interested. I’ll still wait ten years before I try anything like it.
I’ll regret this tomorrow…
