Open Idea for Anyone

Free idea!

In the spirit of wall street protests, how about opening a budget-minded gastropub-type place (featuring locally-sourced ingredients, of course) in one of those ugly, modern, abandoned strip-mall banks? It could be called Bank or $ or something.

You're welcome!!

I noticed that the big bank building at the corner of KY22 and Herr Lane is standing vacant. That would make a classy eats joint, and it already has a drive-in window! :D

I would suggest the little PNC bank mart hugging the sidewalk to Bardstown Rd at the Mid City Mall, but they razed it Thursday. Wondering what's gonna happen there?

There was a notice went around our neighborhood a month or two ago. It inquired if residents objected to replacing the empty bank building with a donut shop.

Will be a DD with a drive thru. According to some of the Skyline peeps, the drive thru will eat up some of their parking on the side of the building and the intersection will change.

I believe that's the worst news I've heard all year. And Lonnie, I think I remember some kind of mailer like that, but part of me wants to say "no one ever asked me!". Not stoked about an enlarged DD on one of my favorite blocks, not at all. I've seen the constructed outlines and it's a lot bigger than that little bank mart that took up sooo little space.
