Isn't it wonderful how well Cordish is doing managing 4th street live? Hopefully the city won't give them a lot more money to remodel this place, although I wouldn't bet against it!

King Jerry's lasting folly. I don't even know if we can call it a folly. He knew what he was doing!

If only the former O'Malley's / Coyotes complex operators had changed their name to Red Tavern, they could have lasted another 15 months.

Can't imagine my landlord letting me stay without paying the rent for over a year.

hard to pay rent when people are not being encouraged to visit the complex where you are located, thus you have fewer and fewer customers. Also hard to pay rent when you are actively discouraged from promoting your business.

theoretically, of course...

The chain has been showing signs of trouble for some time.

My wife and I felt that it was the only place worth going to on FSLive; they always had decent fresh fish, the beef was both prime and aged, and the salads were good. The kitchen could get you in & out in time to make a show at the Palace or Brown, and was within walking distance of both. (note: we haven't gone to Red Star since Marketplace opened!) We would go there over Cunninghams any day!

When we went to Red Star's in other cities during the past year, however, we often found an abbreviated bar menu of several appetizers and burgers, all obviously (from the descriptions) sitting in freezers awaiting heating rather than cooking. They had minimal food and kitchen costs, hired cooks rather than chefs, and relied on drinks to make out.

I have a feeling that - as Red Star was located in city-center pedestrian malls and similar strip locations, the chain may have had a nation-wide "deal" with Cordish, and they were being carried in Louisville due to the number of locations they had. I wonder if all are being evicted, or if it's only in Louisville?
