Blackstone Grill

Went to Blackstone Grill in Prospect last night. Didn't realize that Tuesdays are 1/2 price bottles of wine night!

As always, this place amazes me. It's the same price as the Bristol (just down the street), but has the quality of places charging 50% more. For anyone who loved the old Rick's, why aren't you going to this place more frequently???

We had fresh Walleye (some of the best we've had in Louisville), their special chicken breast (with pancetta, wild mushrooms, and in a wine reduction sauce), with sides as good as the main dishes. I've never ordered anything here that isn't at least very good. And - relating to other threads - all their steaks are aged 30 days.

(Don't get scared by driving to Prospect - it's only 6 minutes beyond the Watterson, and you stay on Brownsboro Rd (rte 42) the entire way - around 5 miles/6 minutes.)

Having lived here for over three years...and being convenient to all things outside The Watterson, I can't believe we haven't tried Blackstone. Think we might have to give it a try this weekend. Thanks Andrew.

What Andrew said..., also Westport, Anchorage, Harrods Creek,...etc, etc...

Been to Blackstone several times, very good selections and very good value !

A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.

I live in Prospect, 3 minutes or a good walk from this place and our multiple visits have not been particularly exciting. Nothing bad but I consider it on par with The Bristol - I also thought the prices were on the high side for what was served. I'm willing to give it another go but as a picky older fart I gotta be impressed - thus far I've been left very ambivalent. I can't be more specific because it's been a year at least since I was there and I can't recall the details - Alzheimer's is setting in I guess.

If I'm going to stay in the area it's Captain's Quarters. We like the brunch.

This has been our experience as well for the few times we tried it. Not bad, but not memorable. Like Mark, it has been a year or two since our last visit.
