Coco's: A Lesson in Hospitality

by Stephen D » Tue Sep 27, 2011 1:26 am

Our familly had a great day, recently...

We picniced in the park, meats and cheeses and wine out of plastic cups and all. Ma and Pa enjoying each other as Wyatt ran amok.

He got to enjoy Hogan's Fountain, like I did as a child. We lucked out- there was a familly there with two puppies (all about the loving and kissing!)

We had this idea of going and getting some icees. Ran down Bardstown Rd- no bueno. I even made a Pulp-Fictionesque call to a certain foodie friend of mine...

'Dude- need an icee connect on Bardstown!'

We wound up at Coco's.

Kid you not, badassenest hospitality I've ever seen! We walked into the place and the owner popped his head out the kitchen...

'Need Chocolate?'

Full Toque, and all, this man exuded the very spirit of hospitality. I wish I had this way of connecting to people. Two words and I'd follow him off a cliff...

Ahh- the service! The young lady that took care of us? Areyoufriggenkiddingme- so good. Not in the white tabecloth kinda way, but in the 'I give a shit' kinda way.

I'll sing your praises till the day you die, young lady- and I'm so right on this.

Oh, the chocolate fondue was... the stuff of a pregnant woman's dream. Make mama happy, you make papa happy.

I was quite pleased with it all... and highly recommend this establishment for all things chocolate.
