Liang's Chinese Cafe

Has anybody been to the Liang's Cafe lately in the Springhurst shopping center?. The only mention of it on the forums was quite a few years ago

If it is the place on the same side as Office Max sort of behind the liquor store..We went about a year ago , I just remember it was nice quiet at lunch. Food was good service was also good but don't remember any details of what we had.

We've been many many times and have never had a bad meal. They have a regular menu and an "authentic" menu - both are good. Their authentic menu is not as adventuresome as I'd like but it's solid. The people are friendly and really try to make you feel at home. The steamed dumplings are some of the best I've ever tasted. A great option in the east end.

I had read they make their own dumplings. Any other dishes we should consider?

We go almost weekly. Mr. Wong is a lovely man and his staff make us feel so at home. It's by far my kids' favorite restaurant.

Definitely try the Shredded Pork with Bean Sauce, so good!! We also like the Dan Bing Chicken and the Pork with String Beans (aka Szechuan green beans),

This is our "go-to" Chinese place & less than a mile from home. Roland is always warm and welcoming and the food is consistently good. We get it enough to notice slight changes in dishes & think they made some nice improvements vs. a year ago or so. The veggies are fresher, the meats are a decent quality, good spices.

His version of "hot wings" is very good! Also, my wife & I frequently get the hot wings, two soups, and split the special tofu dish (tofu, shrimp, chicken, beef, tons of veges, easily enough for two).

Only negative: while all Chinese restaurant food tends to be salty, his is more so than most.
