Evening or later times for Farmer's Markets

by Linda C » Sun Sep 18, 2011 1:47 pm

I am sure many in this industry and others work late hours. After a weekend of late gigs and later nights trying to wind down, I am simply unable to get up, dressed and happy before 11:30. Are there any markets which run later hours and if not, why? Could appeal to the dating age....??

Here's a listing of Louisville-area markets. Many have afternoon and evening hours: http://www.courier-journal.com/article/99999999/FEATURES02/305190003/Louisville-Area-Farmers-Markets-2011

Don't know about the dating scene, but that's a good idea! Maybe a farmer's market/wine tasting?

The Douglas Loop farmer's market is open until 2 on Saturdays, AND they have a booth set up to accept debit transactions for some of the vendors - how's that for convenient?!

New Albany's downtown farmer's market goes until 1 p.m. on Saturdays...also there is one at the Tractor Supply in Sellersburg that doesn't start until 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

The markets that I go to most often are
Phoenix Hill- Tue 3-7
Whole Foods Wed 3-7
Rainbow Blossom Sun 12-4
They are all smallish but night owl friendly.

Wow- that's great, thanks! I don't know about New Albany, I'd probably have to leave at 6 am!

Not really Linda. Traffic moves great. It hasn't taken longer than forty minutes to travel either direction from Crescent Hill to New Albany. 15 minutes to NA, 30-40 to get home.
