Louisville Dessert Truck

by Gayle DeM » Fri Sep 09, 2011 10:25 am

I don't think I've seen anything about this at LHB, but Leah has hit the streets and the web! :D :D

I'm sure she wouldn't mind you stopoing by her Facebook page and "liking" it.

The best part is that the truck will be at the Second Sunday Concert in Prospect on September 11 from 4pm-6 pm in Cowely Park in Hunting Creek, Deep Creek Drive and Westover Drive, Prospect, KY.

Just because I lack the vision to comprehend what can and cannot be done in the space of a food truck, I'll be interested to know how much of the baking is done in the truck versus a traditional kitchen.

To be clear, I in now way mean that in a disparaging way. Hell, it's dessert in a truck; what's not to like? My initial reaction is to think, there's no way the are baking in a truck. And then part of me really really hopes they are. Because, well, that would be awesome. As I said, though, it's dessert - IN A TRUCK. greatness, all around.

Am I the only one who gets annoyed by things named "The Louisville __________?" Granted, Leah's is the only dessert truck in town right now, but taking the name still seems a bit arrogant.

Or maybe I'm just transferring my irritation at "The Louisville Farmer's Market" at Oxmoor this summer, an odd name for a newcomer to the farmer's market scene in Louisville which has had several other big participants running for years now.

P.S. I'd better add: Welcome to the food truck scene, Leah! I genuinely look forward to sampling your wares and I'm glad to see another truck on the roads.

Sigh, time to throw away my plans for a mobile dessert truck. I wasn't going to do baked goods, per se; more like a mobile version of Dairy Kastle which slings traditional ice cream desserts, shakes, sodas, and what-have-you.

There's no actual baking in the truck. I've been a caterer for a decade and will do my baking in that kitchen.

And I name ALL my businesses with "Louisville" in the name

www.LouisvilleWeddingCake.com
www.LouisvilleCookie.com
www.LouisvilleCupcake.com
www.LouisvilleCandyBuffet.com
www.LouisvilleDessertTruck.com

Helps tremendously with SEO.

And thanks, Gayle for the warm welcome.

I have no problem with using "Louisville". What should she use, MF?

I personally think she should change her names to "leah's a genius with" cookies, cakes, cupcakes, etc. Yes please, and where do I get in line?!

I agree! I'm not doing anything like that. There are some ($$$) high end trucks for sale (or were a month ago) with all that sort of quipment already installed.

As I've been saying for the last month, "It's only money."
