I saw that and was intrigued. When we lived in New York, locals didn't think that much of Zagat's NYC guide, the original, yet everyone I know bought a copy. ;0 It tended - in the days when it was an annual print book, not online - to lag way behind, so all its hot spots were last year's hot spots, and the more snarky thought of it as being a bit "bridge and tunnel," tuned for the tastes of suburbanites visiting the city rather than for oh-so-sophisticated New Yorkers. ;)

I'm not sure what it will add to Google's already extensive local links, but a lot of what Google touches turns to gold.

I didn't say ALL!

Although that said, I wouldn't count Google Plus out just yet. It's only a fraction the reach of Facebook, but Facebook has considerable known issues that G+ *may* learn from.

Hope so. I haven't had a reason to log into my G+ account for a month now. And the initially steady stream of people adding me to their circles has dried up, too.

More like Google Buzz.
