Sorry to go outside Louisville.... but, I am curious to know if anyone has ever tried any of the mentioned vendors while in NY?

I will give the guy on 45th and 6th a try next time I am in Gotham.

I think I've seen the dosa man. But the Souvlaki Guy at the Ditmars N Train Station in Astoria got robbed of his nomination. And where is the Roosevelt Avenue Arepa Lady?

I guess her lines were not long enough! According to footage I caught this morning.... it seems that they went by who had the longest lines at their Kiosk!

The dosas looked really good.... is there anyone in Louisville doing Dosa?

I want to try the food of the lady from Trinidad... oxtail stew.. mmmm.

Mac and Cheese... I wonder.....

No, alas. :(

There have been a couple of very "ethnic" South Indian vegetarian places that did masala dosa and iddlies and such. One in St. Matthews near Big Lots (and yes, where Sears used to be), and one in Plainview that later became part of an expanded Joe's OK Bayou. But they never last.

I still fondly remember the Jackson Diner, which was actually South Indian, in that little part of Jackson Heights that was mostly Indian. I loved that place!

Octopus Man!

If they don't mention the octopus guy in Queens, they don't know what they're talking about. Finest octopus in the world.

I discovered the Dosa man on my last trip a few months ago- I'm happy to see he is getting some press. I made a special trip to have a second meal there. He gives vegan eating a very good name.
