Thank you Bunz!

1115PM last night, the wife and I had just let out of Anatomy of a Murder (man that movie is long!) at the Palace. We were both hungry, but not meal hungry, just snack hungry. The debate raged about where to eat something quick and simple at this time of night. Neither of us were in the mood for fast food, nor were we inclined anyway, but our options seemed fairly limited. Our drive took us to Baxter Avenue, where we decided to meander a bit and mull our options.

As we passed Bunz, I noticed that the OPEN sign was on. Neither of us knew how late they were open (2am Fri-Sat), but we opted to give it a go anyway, just in case. After the most recent thread about Bunz being disappointing, my trepidation was a little higher than the norm, but we have pretty much always been happy with the burgers.

Man, am I glad we decided to go in. Service was good, one guy working, and we got our burgers fairly quickly (one other table already eating). Aimee got a cheeseburger with onions, lettuce and tomato, and I got the Red Star Burger, which had all manner of delicious spicy things. Honest to goodness, two of the best burgers we have ever had. Cooked perfectly, supremely dressed, and oh so tasty. We took them home (10 min. drive) and they were still piping hot when we unwrapped them and for being foil wrapped in a styrofoam container, they even still looked good!

We were so pleased that we were tempted to return again today (however, we got waylaid elsewhere). So thank you Bunz! You were a late night beacon of happiness in what threatened to be a fast food nightmare! We will be back, soon!
