I was just in the KY ortho office 2 doors down talking the place up. They were very excited to hear about how great the food is! Can't wait to get over there myself!

Things are now in full swing at Habana Blues Hurstbourne location, food is coming out looking good and tasting even better. Come in and try a refreashing CUCUMBER margarita or just to grab a small bite and chat I'd love to sit down and shoot the breeze(pending on the crowd). Thanks to everyone coming out this weekend it was a perfect opening. Looking forward to seeing all...

Bueno! A friend and I went this evening. We shared
(1) "Tapeo Criollo" - 1 papa rellena (mashed potato ball stuffed with ground beef), 1 empanada de pollo (fried flaky pastry stuffed with chicken ropa vieja), 1 toston relleno (fried green plantain cup stuffed with the house ceviche), and 3 yuca bites (mashed yuca stuffed with jalapeno cheese). Served with red pepper sour crea, salsa antillana (cocktail sauce), and smoked honey. - We could not get over how fried food could be so greaseless. The servings were more than ample.
(2) "Croqueta de Cangrejo" - A Spanish version of crab cakes served with avocado lime aioli. This was our one mistake: since there is but one crab cake in an order and we were hungry, we each asked for an order. Oh, the crab cake was light, greaseless, totally melt-in-the-mouth delicious, but by the time we had finished our third choice we were well beyong sated.
(3) "Datiles Rellenos" - Goat cheese, honey, and Spanish chorizo stuffed dates. Wrapped in bacon and served with a drizzle of smoked honey. - Accompanied by two orderes of Cortadito (Cuban espresso) we thought this the perfect "dessert" - cheese, sweets and bacon - we couldn't ask for anything more!

The food was wonderful. We loved the mural of Cuba, Statue of Liberty and the twin spires of Churchill Downs. The service provided by Rick and Roy was flawless. Like MacArthur, we will return and soon.

We had a great meal here a couple of weeks ago. The mussels tapas are fantastic and I think it was the best mojito in town!

We went there with a bunch of folks about the same time and were fairly "wowed"!
I had a cup of the frijoles negras (black bean stew). Most everyone ordered tapas to pass around. Diane and I ordered guacamole con chicharritas (with plantain chips), datiles rellenos (goat cheese, honey & chorizo stuffed dates wrapped in bacon), crab cakes and tostones rellenos (plantain cups stuffed with ground beef, chicken ropa vieja & ceviche). Others got Galatian stew, paella, Cubano sandwich with plantains and sweet potato fries. Additional tapas passed around were queso fundido, the mussels in a tomato & wine sauce that Robin F. referenced & empanadas. The biggest surprise for me was the patatas bravas were very well-spiced, to my relief. It was quite a feast with good service as well. Had a couple of Negra Modelos and Diane her requisite glasses of wine. She also got a chocolate tres leches for dessert. Makes me hungry thinking about Habana Blues...
