Read about BJ's ( http://www.bjsbrewpub.com) which is supposed to be opening soon in Oxmoor (where Morrison's and Blue Boar used to be, near Macy's). Has anyone ever eaten at one?

I love deep dish Chicago style pizza, but most of the places I've been to outside of the greater Chicago metro have really "dumbed-down" the pizza for the masses, and I'm a little afraid of this one.

Andrew, your link doesn't work. I think this is a correct one. http://www.bjsbrewhouse.com/ Funny thing that they don't show Louisville as a future location even though it's under construction, guess their marketing department hasn't caught up yet!

Hopefully it will be another flash in the pan chain like so many others are. The last brew pub chain that opened in Louisville (were Bravo is now) didn't last very long since its beers didn't compare well to the local brew pubs. Also as you stated most Chicago style pizza outside of Chicago isn't very good.

This is the one that I was asking abut in the other thread! I just asked my cousin's husband. It is going to be by Macy's, not in the old Ruby Tuesday's. He loved the location he frequented in CA! Although, this is a guy who goes to a family reunion and gets nothing but a leg of KFC chicken (which someone got only for the picky) and mashed potatoes.

BTW, the correct url is: http://www.bjsbrewhouse.com/

Chain brewpubs ... well, I suppose one can make the argument that they introduce newbies to better beer.

But in Louisville, we already have five breweries that are brewing better beer, so it you've yet to be introduced to it, then that's an omission on the part of the consumer.

Why Americans require chain anything to induce them to try something new is beyond me.

oh, I can say I've eaten at BJ's since I'm from California. It's not a favorite at all, very typical chain food, a bit better than, say, TGIF's, which isn't saying much.

The beer is good tho.

I think the name is what draws a lot of men into the restaurant. I know that my husband, at least, always got a chuckle out of saying the name. Kind of like something out of Beavis and Butthead.
