Chuy’s CELEBRATES 23rd annual green chile fesitval WITH
THE AMAZING SUPER PEPPER
From the Hatch Valley of New Mexico comes a Superhero with spicy food and fun
Louisville, Kentucky – Chuy’s annual Green Chile Festival will begin Monday, August 22 at the Louisville restaurant, located at 104 Oxmoor Court.
Chuy’s will be introducing a menu of ten green chile-inspired dishes during the three-week festival, including the Super Strength Sopapilla, Bang Pow Enchiladas and Bongo Empanadas. To cool down the palate, Chuy’s will feature two brand new drinks: Frozen White Peach Sangria and The Pricilla, a Chuy’s take on the skinny margarita.
“Green Chile Festival is a special time of year when Chuy’s celebrates our love for this unique pepper,” said Ted Zapp, Vice President of Operations for Chuy’s. “Although we use green chiles in many of our menu items year-round, the Green Chile Festival showcases the one-of-a-kind flavor of the green chile and offers our customers dishes made with the freshest chiles possible.”
Chuy’s will celebrate their 23rd annual Green Chile Festival by introducing The Amazing Super Pepper, a hero from Chuy’s green chile fields, who transforms otherwise uninteresting dishes with a blast from his spicy heat ray. Guests during festival will be treated to giveaways, such as Super Pepper sticker sheets, seed sticks to grow their own chiles at home and a commemorative button. A limited edition Green Chile Festival T-shirt and Super Pepper kid’s cape will also be available for purchase.
The roots of the Green Chile Festival can be dated back to the late 1980s when Chuy’s first brought the green chile to Central Texas. Every spring, Chuy’s contracts with farmers in the Hatch Valley of New Mexico to grow over 700,000 pounds of the freshest green chiles just for their restaurants. When the green chiles reach their height of flavor in August, Chuy’s sends a team to New Mexico to bring back the finest, fresh-picked chiles for the festival.
Chuy’s Amazing Super Pepper Green Chile Festival will be held at the Louisville location from Monday, August 22 through Sunday, September 11. For more information, visit www.Chuys.com and www.Facebook.com/Chuys.Restaurants.
