Waycool Cafe

by Gary Guss » Wed Aug 17, 2011 1:52 pm

Just got back from lunch at the Waycool cafe in the Hotel Louisville.. $5 buffet with fried chicken, vegetables, desert and a drink, also have a regular menu and they are open for breakfast. They also have live music with a pianist being accompanied by another gentleman playing a violin. Food was great and all of the money goes to support the transitional living program there. This is a good way to help these people out and have a good lunch or breakfast at the same time. I haven't seen much in the way of advertising this endeavor, but please come down and try them out.. They also have free Wifi.

They really need to publicize this better, the guy playing the piano and jamming with the violin was worth the price of lunch by itself very enjoyable.

To clarify, this is in the hotel at Second and Broadway that houses Wayside Christian Mission, correct? Good cause indeed. I'll check it out soon, and gladly spread the word.

They have I think, 4 floors of Transitional living and they are operating the rest of it as a hotel. They had a brochure on the table explaining how it works. They also have a Coffee bar as well, all of it is operated by their clients. Terrific service by friendly people.

Me, but I'm stuck in an intense two-week summer school course that runs through Aug. 24.
