Yes, indeed was there! That corn pizza should be called Crack Pizza, deeeelish. $13
Love the vibe of the place, and it was a little loud but it is to be expected considering it is a very open space with concrete brick and metal all around. The lovely wood tables absorb a little I suppose.

Along with my meal I had a ginger soda, and it was not overly gingery (word?), and then could not resist a cup of chocolate custard. $ 4 for about 4 oz.

I come to find out the the Camaro and the Firebird (cars are vintage now that even spell check doesn't recognize them) "sculpture" in the front of the restaurant are on hydraulics, and are slowly being forced together and "rise" to create a piece of art. Right now they are in the kissing stage, so each visit to the restaurant you should be able to see them getting close together.

Also, there are faux topiary "boxes" out front which I understand will become outdoor ping pong tables.

Can't wait to go back.

Oh, and because Garage uses local produce the corn pizza will be changed very soon to reflect the season.

My wife and I went Friday night, and had a great time as well. We got the Sausage Pie, which was fantastic, and the rolled oysters, which was the first time either of us had tried oysters of any kind. They were good, though I think they're somewhat of an acquired taste. :D

The service was fantastic! Our server, whose name I am ashamed to admit I forget, did a great job of explaining the menu to us, making recommendations, and generally making us feel right at home. We sat at a bar off to the side where we could see the kitchen, and it was a great experience to watch everything happening.

We gave it a try last night and really liked it. As Annemarie and Heather said, it is pretty loud. That didn't pose a problem for the two of us, but a party of four or more might have trouble, especially if they are baby boomers like me with questionable hearing already.

The garage doors were open and that made for a nice experience on a pleasant summer evening. We liked the look of the long wood tables, and the bar, which was packed, was visually appealing.

Our server, Whitney, was very attentive and provided some helpful insights into both the menu and the beer selections. They have an extensive list of bottled beers on the menu and had eight or 10 draft offerings on a chalkboard. I went with the draft Southern Tier 2X IPA and Becky chose a bottled Rogue Dead Guy Ale. Becky tried the salad of local mixed lettuces and I the herbed Caesar. Both salads were very nice, with interesting, unusual ingredients (plums with the mixed lettuces and fried kale with the Caesar) but we thought they were overpriced at a little over $8.00 each. Then we split a Corn Pizza. Heather hit the nail on the head with her "Crack Pizza" comment -- it's one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten, with the smoky crust, sweet corn, basil and bacon meshing perfectly.

One final note - we got there at 8:00 on a Monday night and were definitely well above the median age. We kept looking for others of our generation and did not find many.

I think it's at the corner of Clay and Main. Been once. Sat at the bar. Bradley is very good behind the bar.

Robin we would both be the 2 oldest in the place! :D It seems more and more that's the case! Why is that?

No, annemarie's got the address right. I rode by it a week or so ago on my bike. Assumed it would also be a lunch spot but looks like not.

The thing about the two muscle cars slowly being pushed together is interesting and certainly calls out for time-lapse photos.

They are planning on opening for lunch in the future from what I'm told. I'll ask about a dedicated geezer section next time I'm there.

I think it's good that these " kids" can afford to eat at Garage bar and any other hipster joints in town, that to me means that they are working and busy, and they are contributing to the local economy!

I will be 48 on Sat. and I won't let age stop me at a restaurant, at a bar maybe, but not a restaurant.

Hey we all have to eat by chewing don't we? (well, some will inhale) and that's good enough for me.

I dig that they decorated with the stuff that was left in the building like old tires and oil cans. very cool. pretty good bottled beer list, just wish they had more than five taps. all in all, i love the place and apparantly so do lots of people. it's packed every time i'm down there!

We went Saturday night after the restaurant closed and got there around 11:30. The place was jumping. I really liked the atmosphere. We found a place at the bar and waited for a bartender. The guys next to us were drinking a very exotic looking cocktail garnished with basil and lime. He let Ruth try it and she was hooked instantly. A basil gin gimlet. Very tasty and very dangerous--- as in, it goes down easy. I had an Old foe on the rocks and we settled in for the show- people watching. Pretty young crowd but that is fine with me, as I am 25 at heart. We were comped some wonderful oysters and some pizza by the owner and they were spot on. The place is doing exactly what it is meant to do. Offer a place to socialize and grab some really good bar food. The long communal tables give plenty of opportunity to meet others. It is loud but that is all good in this setting.

We've been there once and loved our pizzas (White for me, Sweet Corn for hubby, & Margherita for Jade) and salads (2 mixed lettuces, 1 Caesar) so much we plan to return this weekend. I may have to try the oysters this time after reading about them here. Crowd was a mix of young and old so we fit right in with our 18 year old daughter. We learned from manager Sarah that the staff refers to garage bar as the "Anti- Proof!".
When in doubt, add more wine.
