Help!

Hey everyone - We have guests coming in this weekend and we need recommendations for dinner. Our guests have requested somewhere that does "small plates." We will have 1 vegetarian to consider as well......Any Ideas???

Mojitos is great fun. They don't have a ton of vegetarian fare, but there are a few tasty veggie items on the menu.

Mojito is another ... and De La Torres/La Bodega. Also Majid's, on the bar side. All should have some veggie items.

I love love love Red Hog, but it's not much for vegetarians, and their "small" plates can be pretty darn filling.

It is very vegetarian friendly, if seafood is allowed. 40% of the menu is free of 4-legged animal parts.

They are closed Sat. for the St. Joseph picnic.

La Bodega - went on a Hotbytes rec. last Friday night and loved everything - I mean everything. How did I miss this place?

Red Hog - Agree that the plates are not very small, but the food is amazing. The wait can be an issue given they are only open 3 nights a week.

Mojito's - Great - the best mojito in town with lot's of fun alternatives. The hummus, guacamole, and ravioli come to mind.

I love sitting in the downstairs Lounge and having their small plates with Happy Hour or as dinner. However, if you want a sit-down dinner at a regular dining room table, you'd have to ask if they'd make an exception and let you order off that Lounge menu outside of the Lounge/Bar areas.

volare has the best small plates. love their lamb meatball sliders. their antipasto.

I'm in complete agreement with Annemarie on this one. I think I could live on those lamb sliders. The antipasto is great. There is also a smoked salmon small plate that calls my name. In addition, Volare is currently celebrating it's seventh anniversary with $7 appetizers, cocktails, wines and desserts.

Additionally, if you wish to have true conversation with your out-of-town guests, I'd easily choose Volare over Mojito's. LAst, but not least, Volare also has a music duo in its lounge.

You can try the Holy Grale at 1034 Bardstown Rd. They have only small plates and last time we were there some of them were proper vegetarian (as opposed to vegan), no animal flesh involved, only cheese. It's "real" beer heaven as well.
