decorated cake recs?

by C. Devlin » Tue Sep 25, 2007 4:27 pm

Apologies if this has already been addressed here and I missed it, but here's the thing. I get calls now and again from the southern Indiana area requesting "occasion" cakes, decorated cakes for birthdays, anniversaries and the like. I don't do that sort of thing, and I don't know anybody who does. Any recommendations I can use for these folks?

Leah Stewart is known for wedding cakes, but I am sure she does them for other occassions as well. The one she made for my wedding was insanely good.

Thanks. I'd like to compile a list for folks to choose from.

Leah, did you get my last email?

One of our former employees, Kris Lutgring, is a Sullivan grad from the Pastry Program and does gorgeous (and yummy) decorated cakes for all occasions. He's a real pleasure to work with.

You can reach him at: krislutgring "at" gmail.com.

Deb,

Thank you for the promo. I had such a great time working at GFE and teaching you how to use fondant to decorate your own cake! LOL!

C. Devlin,

As Deb had mentioned you can email me or PM me. (I just registered today!) Long time lurker, 1st time posting) I won't lie, I don't have the years of experience Leah has but I am proud of my work and would love to speak with you about your needs.

There's always Sweet Surrender.

We create cakes for all occassions.

Our cafe is open until at least 10pm Tuesday-Saturday if you'd like to drop in for a slice of cake and to see what we have to offer.

And we were just voted Best Dessert Spot in the LEO Readers Choice Awards.

You can check out some of our work at http://www.sweetsurrenderdessertcafe.com
