I'm all about Bell's Oberon in that niche ...
David R. Pierce wrote:Bell's is still an independently owned craft brewery making a bunch of kick-ass beers. Oberon is bell's fat tire; most popular, most overrated.

Do they still make Tombstone? That would be perfect! Great name that invites snarky humor, it goes back to the '60s, and it's a product of multinational Nestlé Corp. What's not to like!?

Hey! That's my summer sippin' beer you're talking about. I do like Bell's a lot - Two Hearted, too, and the Oarsman is also an excellent beer with food.
Seriously, though, how come a Kalamazoo brewery is so widely available and popular in Louisville? Are they getting Sam Adams big, or do we just have an unusual pipeline?

No Longer Old Louisville
Mark Allgeier wrote:Bells is a really well made product. Lots of choices, seasonal surprises etc.. I may go out on a limb here and say its been well distributed. But what we cannot deny is that what made a Brewery like Bells strong enough to make such a branding presence in other markets where local product is readily available has been a strong hometown support. On a another note about a month ago the CEO of BW-3 was on Mad Money and stated that they are currently focusing on overhauling their taps in all of their locations to be outfitted with 100+ draft selections. Their idea is to put on every local beer available in that area with of course the addition to others. Weird to me is that it may take a chain to come to louisville and do this before anyone else dare to carry every available local option. Until then cheers to John Campbell, he dedicated 5 taps to local beer at the barrett I've heard.
