The Recovery Room???

by Adam C » Sun Jul 31, 2011 11:30 am

This new place opened in the old Cafe Lou Lou spot on Frankfort Ave which also used to be Kentucky BBQ... What is it? A bar? A restaurant? Any experiences/reviews? I'm curious yet I don't have near as much time as I used to to go check out new places.. Cheers!

I haven't heard from anyone who's been there.

It's a bar, mostly, although I understand they have food or plan to. I know a few people who really love it, although to me the concept is a little ... disturbing.

A guy I grew up with is cooking there, apparently they get their MSD check last friday. From what I've seen, they're gonna have lots of live djs and bands, food and alcohol.

agreed. Servers is "sexy nurse" garb and wheelchair wheelie contests or something similar (going by Facebook posts) is in extremely bad taste on many levels.

I thought it was a strip club when I first saw it on facebook. A strip club or a adult themed photography studio...

I just said I found it personally "disturbing." I wasn't really shooting for a moral and ethical judgement on it.

The word "disturbing" already used, I'll just say the concept gives me a case of the heebie-jeebies, the chief symptom being uncontrollable full body shudders. A view of the photo gallery at:

gives me a strong indication that this joint doesn't hold much appeal for the curmudgeonly among us. Looks like a right "artsy" crowd...

I dunno, we used to do wheelchair races and wheelie contests at the practice, and I've heard stories from some of the techs that I know that similar things happen at some of the other medical centers around here.

Although for us it was mostly a way to kill time when it was late, I don't know that I'd want to mix it with drinking.

I can't think much "sexy"about the other nurses I know...of course like me they are over 50 and well into the plus sized category. I may not have worked for several years now but remember after working a 12 hr shift all I wanted to do was go home shower and crawl into bed and sleep....Don't think this place is anything but a fantasy land.

Based upon the descriptions and linked photos - it's not making my short list.
