In any case, we don't orchestrate this stuff, but it's logical enough that Marty and I both ended up reviewing Varanese. It also seems that Marty's reactions and mine were quite similar. I won't say the reviews were identical - we each have our own style - but I don't see much to disagree with in Marty's positive, three-star summation of Varanese as a welcome, and relative value, addition to the Frankfort Avenue corridor.
(At 669 words, it's also substantive, although it's going to be interesting to see what changes are in store for Scene next week, when Marty's Friday piece about "interesting foods" and Sarah's old "Dish" column of PR releases and non-anonymous "reviews" move into an allegedly expanded Scene food section. I'm guessing this will actually be more Gannetoid corner-cutting billed as an improvement, but I've been wrong before ... )
