Man Vs. Food Nation Louisville episode airs tonight ...

by Robin Garr » Wed Jul 27, 2011 10:46 am

Travel Channel’s hit show Man v. Food Nation taped an episode in Louisville a couple of months ago. Just in from the producers:

The episode airs on tonight, Wednesday, July 27 at 9 p.m. Here’s a description of the episode:

MAN V. FOOD NATION
Episode Summary: 110 LOUISVILLE

Main Description

Adam’s all-American eats lands him in Louisville, Kentucky; home to bluegrass, bourbon and the Kentucky Derby! Adam starts off at the legendary Brown Hotel to try a taste of the original Hot Brown: an open-faced sandwich of turkey and bacon, covered in Mornay sauce. Next, Adam makes a stop at the eccentric Lynn’s Paradise cafe to dig into the Quadruple B French Toast (blackberries, black walnut, buttermilk and bourbon). And finally, Adam lands at The Comfy Cow to guide Man V. Food Nation member Joe Nikolai, aka “Burrito Joe,” through the Comfy Cow Challenge: 15 heaping scoops of ice cream plus toppings! If Joe finishes this monstrosity in one hour, he’ll win a t-shirt and earn a spot on the wall of fame. Start your horses, Derby City – it’s time to eat!

Am I the only one that finds this show to be unwatchable?

I've never watched it, I guess tonight is as good a time as any. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm not crazy about it, but since local eateries get some air time, I thought I should mention it. I really don't much care for any of the current crop of Food/Travel channel celebs - Fieri, Zimmern, those guys don't really do it for me.

I'll have to check her out.

I have recently resorted to DVRing Alton Brown's Good Eats in the wee hours of the morning. It turns out I'd missed more than I'd seen, so It's all new to me!

Thankfully that Rachel Ray tide seems to have ebbed.

Man V Food is the worst of the bunch, but I'm not sure what all the hate is about regarding the Travel Food shows? I love them.

We keep a notebook of places that we'd like to visit if/when we are in those areas. Cooking channel has a few new ones I really like in this genre.

'The Originals' w/ Emeril
'Hook Line & Dinner' (seafood places)
'Unique Eats'
'Eat St.' (food trucks)

Man Vs Food strikes me as the least pretentious of the bunch and I enjoy it. Heck it inspired me to make vegetarian versions of the Juicy Lucy and a couple of other things.
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I am kind of a big deal.

It's hit-or-miss for me, we catch it once in a while. If it wasn't for the host I'd likely not watch at all. But for a show in the 'Ville, I'm heading back early from Waterfront Wednesday to catch it with my wife.
Far cry, though, from Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations", the best show I'm aware of on any channel bar none - while "Madmen" isn't on.

We watched it and enjoyed it. We love Comfy Cow, and it was a fun show. (except for the end. ) We had sundaes to celebrate. (after enough time had passed that the "surprise" ending was no longer effecting us.)

I'm VERY curious about Lynn's black walnut french toast now. It looks fantastic!!

Man V. Food turned my 7-year-old son into a foodie - he will try ANYTHING now! Although he does say he'd rather not eat snails after seeing them up close. As far as I'm concerned, that show can do no wrong, since my formerly picky eater has discovered the world of food. I wish it worked for the 3-year-old, but we'll keep trying!
