Lil Cheezers teaming up with Stop Lite

by Dee Matt » Tue Jul 26, 2011 11:00 pm

Hey there! First time poster, long-time follower.
I know a lot of you guys and gals are supports of Louisville Street Food. Wanted to give you all the heads up that tomorrow at Waterfront Wednesday, Lil Cheezers will be in front of S
top Lite Wine, Spirits, and Cafe at 1348 River Road. It's right across the street from Louisville Rowing.

A little history about us at Stop Lite. I recently joined the team to handle a little PR and technology advancement and fell in love with the owners out there. The father, now deceased, started Stop Lite 50 years ago. Since his departure it's still stuck through thick and thin to be a part of the Louisville scene. Stop Lite really is a mom and pop kind of place.
There's a great little cafe inside that serves some really good barbecue with homemade sauce. I actually go to help get the meat out of the smoker and pull it myself this morning, And due to the licensing they have you can actually purchase beer or wine or whatever you like from the Liquor store and partake in it cafe side!

In the near future we're really looking to get the community involved in our store. We're looking to start a beer social club; where beer enthusiasts can come and bring brews they enjoy, sample kinds at the store, and just have a great time! We're looking to have events like wine tasting nights, ladies nights, even some live music from time to time. If there's anything that you guys would like to see by all means you're welcome to call me at the store or send me a PM here. I've already reached out to some of the board members here about teaching bar-tending classes and specialty cocktail class nights etc. I really really really would love any advice or comments that you guy have. I've lurked enough to realy develop a trust in your alls recommendations.

Hope to see everyone tomorrow! Sorry for the long first post.

Been in a few times since the move! A great shop! Beer cave with a great selection. Having grown up down the road on Zorn, some family history at the old store!

I know some of the family pretty well, and I must say, they are a great group. I have heard from quite a few friends that the food and the barbeque especially are incredible, yet sadly I haven't made it down there to try it. I hope the best for Stop Lite, they've been around a loooooooooooonnnnnnng time!!

I've driven by Stop Lite many times and have always been intrigued. Thanks for the info - will definitely stop in some time.

Their barbeque put on a Liz Cheezer's sandwich, I think I'm on to something.
