Big R's ALIVE and SMOKIN'!

Big R's BBQ has re-opened in LaGrange! They have moved to a larger more diner friendly location on the main drag (Highway 53) just 2 blocks South of Main Street, I believe the address is 213 S 1st Street. They opened this past Monday and have everything up and smoking. My beautiful bride and son ate there tonight and reported all is well. They were kind enough to bring me home a pulled pork sandwich which was as good as always. Looking forward to getting out to see Randy & Shannon in the new digs. Go. Eat. Most excellent. I was a bit worried that the whole "we're relocating thing was code for "we're closing". Glad to hear they ARE back.

Big R's indeed is at the top of their game. Fantastic barbecue and truly wonderful ownership and staff. If you visit and see the little gray building next door, that would be the future location of Q&A Sweet Treats - however, we are still remodeling. We should be baking there by September, open to walk-in business by mid-fall.

If you DO want some Q&A while you are there, ask your server for a slice of Hummingbird Cake - we make several a week for Big R's and they are a huge hit!

Drove by Big R's yesterday and they have a really nice deck for dining. It's on the "shady" side of the building and (once this weather cools down a bit) should be a nice spot for an evening pig out. FYI, the new location is about 1/2 a mile off of (I-71) exit 22.
