right under the bridge. go after lunch hour and prepare to wait a bit. it's worth it.
Grimaldi's is great! Also, if you want to go further into Brooklyn, I highly suggest Tottono's in Coney Island:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/totonno-pizzeria-napolitano-brooklyn#query:tottonos. Coney is worth the trip just to see what's left before it's gone, but Totonno's makes some great pizza, too. Another idea for adventuring into Brooklyn is Di Fara's, which is Midwood I believe. Never been there, but lots of friends recommend it highly. Lombardi's in Soho is one of the oldest pizzerias in the country, and is okay, but a little touristy.
Blue Smoke is okay for barbecue, but my personal favorite is/was Pies n' Thighs, also in Brooklyn (they closed down for a bit but reopened in a new location, also in Brooklyn). Also, Fette Sau in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is okay. Spuyten Duyvil is a really great beer bar (not a barbecue place) which is right across the street from Fette Sau. A barbecue joint in Manhattan that I really liked is Hill Country, which is more Texas-style than Blue Smoke.
