Blue River Cafe Re-Opening Scheduled.

I realize this place is a bit of a drive for the "Inside the Watterson" and the "never cross the river" crowds, but thought I'd mention that the Blue River Cafe in Milltown, IN will be re-oopening on July 28. After the devastating fire in May 2010 that resulted in the total destruction of this Harrison/Crawford County stalwart, it would have been easy for the owners to simply close up shop and just be another vacant lot in another small town in Southern Indiana. Instead they made the gutsy decision to rebuild and be a positive local influence. <applause>

Drove past there last Sunday, and they looked to be very close to readiness; mostly exterior work with the parking lot, steps and such.

For some years, Blue River Cafe has had the best beer list between here and ... probably Schitzelbank (Jasper) or Gerst Haus in Evansville. Can't wait to seen what they come up with for the reopening.
