It started with Sliced Peach and Tomato Salad that totally knocked my socks off. Sliced tomatoes, peaches, onions, rosemary and basil were marinated in olive oil and red wine vinegar; then served atop mixed greens that had been lightly tossed in olive oil and vinegar. The whole salad was lightly dressed with a lemon and shallot vinegarette. I don't think I had ever considered the combination of tomato and peach, but, man, it's a winne! The taste combination was a delight to the palate and the eye appeal of the brilliant red and orange, an A plus!
The main course was a Muffuletta Sandwich on Sourdough Bread. Chef Jim prepared an olive salad from scratch. The fresh parsley added a vibrance that is missing in the prepared and bottled version from New Orlean's Central Market upon which I have come to rely. However, I must say that I think I prefer the bread of the original.
Dessert was a Pineapple and Mango Turnover. The aroma I inhaled (sitting but six feet from the chef's burner )while he sauted mango, ginger and pineapple in butter was an olafactory memory that I'm sure will last my lifetime! Then he added apricot jam and cinnamon to round out the turnover filling. After filling and baking in a puff pasty dough, the remaining filling was served as an accompanying sauce. Pure heavenly bliss!
Once again, I have to give kudos to Chef Jim. His running dialogue while preparing the three courses of “Lunch Lessons” was both informative and entertaining. The food was superb. This has to be one of the best "foodie" bargains in Louisville. Both a three course lunch and a cooking clas totaled $24, including tax and gratuity.

I was in such a sensory stupor that I missed the theme of the August Lunch Lesson, but I did pick up on the fact that, for Limestone, August will be "Lobster Month" and that there will be a daily three-course lobster special for $35/$39. Again, blame my sensory stupor for the inaccuracy of the price.
